Residents of the Month
March 14, 2022
Here at Siena Gardens, we love turning our spotlight onto our amazing residents that we get to work with every day. Getting to know each and every one of our residents is such an honor. They always have interesting life stories to share and wisdom to pass on to us. We'd like to take this moment to recognize our January Resident of the Month, Wanda Haskins, and our February Resident of the Month, Bernie Allen!
Wanda grew up in Kentucky and attended Western Brown High School. She had grown up working as a nanny and absolutely loved it. Nowadays, you can find her at Siena Gardens doing some of her favorite hobbies, such as reading and exercising. She loves to read her bible and socialize with her peers. Wanda has such a positive attitude and always has a smile on her face.
A few more of her favorite things include going to church, the color purple and breakfast food! When asked what her one wish was, she replied,
"To go to heaven."
Bernie has been a pleasure to have at the facility. He grew up in Illinois and attended the University of Illinois. His favorite hobbies growing up were all sports-related, including basketball and baseball. Bernie used to be a veterinarian and loves being around animals.
During his downtime, he enjoys reading and watching sports. A few of his favorite things are eating fish, the colors orange and blue, and attending church. Bernie shared that his wife is his favorite person because she makes him the happiest and always brings a smile to his face. When we asked him what his one wish is, he shared,
"Live to be 90 years old."
It's been a pleasure getting to know each one of you so much more. We are proud to serve you and wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
