Resident Spotlight - Helen
April 2, 2024
Meet Helen "Honey" Ladd, a beloved long-term resident of Siena Gardens since 2020. Known for her infectious smile and warm personality, Honey is cherished by all who know her. Born and raised in Amelia, Ohio, she has deep roots in the community, with her family owning property on Shayler Road since 1919. Married to her husband Jack for 33 years, they raised a son and now enjoy the company of their three grandchildren and multiple great and great-great-grandchildren.
What makes Honey so special is her willingness to help others and make people smile. For 25 years, she coordinated The Golden Oldies dance team at Clermont Seniors, leading them to victory in line dance competitions across the country. She fondly recalls meeting Cincinnati Bengals players during a trip to New York, where her team clinched first place. Honey's talents extend to crocheting, where she creates baby hats and scarves for Children's Hospital and Clermont Seniors.
Her days at Siena Gardens are spent crafting blankets for her growing family and staff members, alongside making purses and dish towels. She says she will do it until she can’t any longer. Despite her age, Honey remains committed to spreading joy and kindness through her creative endeavors.
Thank you for sharing your story with us, Honey! It is a true pleasure having you here with us at Siena Gardens.
