Siena Gardens' First-Ever Trunk-or-Treat!
October 28, 2022
Siena Gardens was thrilled to host our first-ever Trunk-or-Treat for our friends, families and community! We were so happy with the turnout. There were around 20 cars that pulled up with their decorated trunks, along with our facility bus that our staff decorated to look spooky.
It was so important to us to invite our community to this event, especially after the pandemic, when we all often felt lonely at times. Hosting events with our community helps us spread our Culture of Care beyond our doors. Seeing all of the smiling faces brings so much joy to our sweet residents and makes them feel part of something special. One resident shared,
"I had the best time!" Another said,
"I loved seeing all the kids in their costumes." Our residents' favorite part was seeing the kids' costumes and seeing their big smiling faces. It was too cold for some of our residents to go outside, so they chose to watch from the window.
Thank you to the families that donated candy and dressed up for the event, making it an unforgettable day for all of us involved. We had the pleasure of seeing so many creative costumes. One of our favorite costumes was a resident who dressed up as Cruella de Vil and her husband was her dalmatian. Tina, our MDS Nurse, claimed victory for "Best Decorated Trunk."
A big shoutout goes to our staff members for making this day such a success. Our kitchen staff made sure no one was hungry or cold by serving hot dogs and hot chocolate. A few of our special helpers included Chucky, Bride of Chucky (Tiffany), Teen Wolf, Jack Skellington and The Grinch, just to name a few. Thank you to Bella Care Hospice for donating candy and the "Best Decorated Trunk" prize. We can't wait to do it again next year!
